![]() |
The following article discusses how to install the VPN client on Macintosh OS X 10.2.
This article assumes that you have a properly installed and configured wireless network adapter on your Macintosh-based computer (OS X 10.2). If you have not yet installed or configured your wireless adapter, first follow the instructions provided by your wireless network card manufacturer, then return to these instructions. If you are having problems with the installation or configuration of your wireless network card, contact the manufacturer of your wireless network adapter.
Installation of the VPN Client
- Download the VPN client for Macintosh OS X 10.2.
Save the file to the Desktop. As of the version 4.6.03 release, all of the SIUC profiles are contained in the single program download. You no longer need to retrieve any additonal PCF files to use the SIUC VPN system.

6. The 'Authenticate' dialog box appears. In the 'Name' field enter your administrator username. In the 'Password or phrase' field enter your administrator password or challenge phrase, then click 'OK'. If you don't know your administrator password you'll need to reset it with the OS X installer disk that came with your computer.
7. IMPORTANT! DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP: You must reboot your Macintosh now. Starting the Cisco VPN client before rebooting may cause your installation to fail.
8. After your computer restarts, start the VPN client by double-clicking the 'VPNClient' application icon located in the 'Applications' directory of your hard drive. Make sure your airport is connected to SIUC-IV or SIUC-OV or the program will faill to run. You may wish to create an alias for this file and move it to the Desktop or to the Dock area of your workspace.
